War has forever changed the childhoods of thousands of Ukrainian children. They’ve been forced to grow up too soon, facing anxiety, fear, and uncertainty about the future.
Beyond food and shelter, children need friends, parental warmth, attention from those around them, support, and the chance to feel joy and safety. Much of this has been stolen from them by Russia... But we refuse to let the trauma of war become a barrier to their development, growth, and a happy future.
The “On Angel’s Wings” project has been running for 13 years, and over that time, we’ve learned not just how to give gifts, but how to create an atmosphere of care, safety, and dreams coming true for every child. Our goal is to help children feel joy, love, and support — even in the hardest of times.
What happened at this year’s Christmas Quest?
🧸 A safe play environment — over 80 volunteers ensured the safety and well-being of all children throughout the celebration.
🤗 A circle of friendship — 233 children formed a huge, joyful community where they made new friends, encouraged each other, and shared in each other’s happiness.
🎨 Opportunities for self-expression — more than 15 activity zones tailored for various age groups allowed children not only to complete fun challenges but to express their creativity, physical energy, and leadership skills.
🍬 Sweet treats — at the end of the quest, every child received a gift bag filled with candies. In the main hall, all children were also treated to tea, hot soup, and pizza — a universal favorite.
We can’t do everything. But we can do something — to give children back what no one has the right to take away: a joyful, carefree childhood.
Let’s create little miracles — even in the darkest of times.
